Welcome to our new home base!

Common sense disclaimer: It’s critical to seek the advice of a qualified veterinarian, preferably one that is board certified in theriogenology (reproductive science) for reproductive matters. This website, its blog, its courses, and other information presented are neither designed nor intended to replace the need for a qualified veterinarian, but instead to help educate people to to work optimally with their veterinarians. All recommendations should be reviewed with qualified professionals, such as a board certified reproductive veterinarian, prior to implementation in a breeding program. Always seek the advice of your veterinarian. Readers assume all risks associated with use of material on this site. More here.

We began providing content in Facebook groups a few years ago. Our philosophy was and is that:

  • Breeders can only be responsible when they understand what responsible breeding means. So if we want responsible breeders, we need to provide people with the education and information to do so.

  • Every single breeder out there represents us as responsible breeders. So if we want to improve the reputation of dog breeding as a whole, we need to improve all breeders as much as possible.

  • Peer pressure can be a good thing. The more breeders who adhere to best practices, the more others will feel they need to step up to the plate.

  • People who are learning need a safe, supportive place to go. They don’t need to be berated or kicked because they aren’t yet up to par—they need help and support getting where they need to go. There are occasionally people who don’t want to learn or improve, but the vast majority of breeders would choose to do things the right way if given the knowledge and opportunity.

We have tried to provide safe and supportive spaces for people to learn and to make it as affordable (read: mostly free) and accessible as possible. In the last couple of years Facebook has been deleting posts, pages, and groups where breeders congregate and sell puppies.

Because of this, we have felt an urgent need to start moving our content off Facebook, hence the creation of this website.

This website was founded with generous and moving donations from our breed community, and we would like to make our content available to the broader all-breed community as well.

We will continue to provide as much free content as possible. Basic and critical information will be free. We are planning some webinars, online courses, videos, etc. that take more time and money to create, but we hope to be able to keep those in an affordable range, depending on complexity and expense.

All breeds are welcome, all breeders are welcome.

We love to see new faces and help people determine if breeding is in fact right for them, and we appreciate and value our experienced and knowledgeable contributors who help lift our community and its standards.

Thank you for visiting our site. We hope you find it valuable and useful.
